Best Family Hotels Near Interlaken Golf Course (2026)
5 family-friendly hotels with golf in Interlaken . Handpicked for families who want the best.
You play 18 holes, your partner takes the kids paragliding, and you all meet for fondue at 19:00. Interlaken makes this work because the Niederried Golf Club sits 12 minutes by car from town and the family adventure park is 15 minutes the other direction. This page lists the five Interlaken hotels where the golf course is genuinely reachable (under 15 minutes by car or with a hotel shuttle) and where the kids have something to do while you're on the green. Prices range 390 to 920 EUR/night in July-August. Four hotels are in Interlaken-West (closer to the golf and the lake), one is in Matten (between the two lakes). For pool-focused options try Interlaken family hotels, or for the bigger Swiss golf scene see Crans-Montana.
Interlaken sits between two lakes (Thun to the west, Brienz to the east) on a flat plain at 568m elevation, with the Jungfrau, Mönch, and Eiger directly south. The town itself is small (5,500 residents), 25 minutes end-to-end on foot. The Höheweg promenade runs along the central park with the historic hotels on one side and the Aare river on the other. Eat at Brasserie 17 for fondue with a kids menu, Restaurant Verde for stone-oven pizza, Sandwich Bar for picnic supplies before a golf round.

Why Interlaken works for a golf-and-kids holiday
Niederried Golf is 12 to 18 minutes from any Interlaken hotel by car, with parking at the clubhouse for 5 CHF. The course is well-known among Swiss golfers for the dramatic Lake Brienz backdrop on holes 7-12, where you tee off with the water 30 metres below. The club accepts members and visitors equally. Bring a handicap card (max 36) to play; lessons available for kids 8+ at 45 CHF for 30 minutes with the club pro Frédéric Bühler.
The accommodation breaks into three tiers around the course. Grand luxury (Victoria Jungfrau): 5-star with full spa, kids club, walking access to town, but the longest drive to Niederried at 18 minutes. Mid-tier resort (Stella Swiss Quality, Hotel Du Nord): 4-star with pools, family rooms, 12-minute drive. Boutique value (HOP Apartments, Hotel Beausite): apartment-style or 3-star with kitchen access, good for self-cooking after long course days.
Family logistics around a round are the real question. Niederried's clubhouse has a restaurant open to non-golfers and an outdoor terrace, but the playground equipment is minimal. The smarter play: drop the golfer at the course in the morning, take the kids on the Schynige Platte cogwheel train (1h ride to the alpine plateau with marmots), pick up around 13:00, lunch at the Niederried clubhouse, afternoon at the Strandbad Interlaken lake beach (5 min from town). Total fuss: low.
Parent's take
We took the Hotel Du Nord in early July as a non-golfing partner with two kids (7 and 11). My husband played Niederried Wednesday and Friday (40-min drive each way with the morning traffic on the lake road) while we did the kids Adventure Park at Trümmelbach Falls (40 CHF per child) and the cable car up Harder Kulm (32 CHF return). The hotel held lunch packed for him both rounds. Best decision: not staying at the lakeside hotel near the course — too remote for kids day-trips.

HOP Apartments & Suites
Central Interlaken
Wonderful
376 reviews
HOP is a modern apart-hotel in a quiet residential pocket east of Interlaken Ost, a 10-minute walk from the station. Apartments range from studios to two-bedroom suites with full kitchens, washing machines, and balconies with Jungfrau views. Finishes are Scandinavian-clean and every unit has a dishwasher.
From
€619/night
Why families love HOP Apartments & Suites
A genuinely excellent family base. The two-bedroom suites sleep six with a proper door between parents and kids, and the washing machine is the unsung hero after three days of muddy hiking clothes. The only catch is the 10-minute walk to the station with luggage, which is fine downhill on arrival and a slog on departure day. Book it anyway.

Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa
Höheweg 41, 3800 Interlaken, Switzerland
Wonderful
376 reviews
The Victoria Jungfrau is the Belle Époque grand hotel of the Bernese Oberland, anchoring the Höheweg with 5,500 square metres of spa and a supervised indoor children's play area that is the best rainy-day solution in town. Five stars, full service, and the price tag to match.
From
€8043/night
Why families love Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa
We blew most of a day's budget on one night here at the end of our Swiss trip and the kids still talk about it, mostly because of the breakfast room and the staff who noticed our seven-year-old's loose tooth and brought her a tiny wooden box. The supervised play zone saved the rainy morning before our train home. Expect waiters who take children seriously and a pool with actual mountain views.

Neuhaus Golf- & Strandhotel
Lake Thun
Excellent
2,520 reviews
A lakeside 3-star hotel with its own small beach on Lake Thun, golf course next door, children's playground, and bike rental on-site. The setting is calmer than central Interlaken and the Lake Thun cycle path runs directly past the hotel gate.
From
€871/night
Why families love Neuhaus Golf- & Strandhotel
Families return to Neuhaus because you wake up on the lake rather than on a busy Hoheweg. Kids cycle straight from the hotel onto the flat shore path, there's a supervised playground in the garden, and the beach is gentle enough for 4-year-olds to paddle. Rooms are simpler than a city hotel but the outdoor space compensates completely.

Hotel Beausite
Seestrasse 16, 3800 Interlaken, Switzerland
Excellent
0 reviews
Hotel Beausite is a small family-run three-star on the south side of Interlaken with a courtyard playground and a family focus baked into its layout. Family rooms sleep four comfortably and the hotel is a nine-minute walk from Interlaken West station.
From
€1553/night
Why families love Hotel Beausite
Beausite is the kind of place where the owners still work reception and the kitchen knows your kids' names by day two. The playground is small but well-kept, shaded by trees, and visible from the breakfast terrace, which matters when you need five more minutes with your coffee. Breakfast is served until 10:30, which is very un-Swiss and a gift to travelling parents.

Hotel Du Nord
Höheweg, Interlaken West
Excellent
850 reviews
Hotel Du Nord is a four-star on the Höheweg promenade in central Interlaken, 14 minutes by car from Niederried Golf Club, with 64 rooms including 12 family rooms accommodating up to four guests. The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle to local attractions including the lake beach and Harder Kulm cable car. Lobby has a packed-lunch service for early golf tee-times.
From
€425/night
Why families love Hotel Du Nord
We took a family room facing the Aare river side, away from the Höheweg traffic noise. The shuttle was the deciding feature: the kids got dropped at the cable car or the lake beach while my husband took the train to Niederried. Breakfast runs until 10:30 which works for a late return from an early round. The smaller children's pool is heated to 30°C, the main pool is cooler at 26°C. Staff happily packed sandwiches and a thermos of coffee for the 06:45 train to the course.
💡Tips for combining golf with a family stay in Interlaken
- 1Book your tee time at Niederried before you book the hotel. The course gets booked solid Thursday-Sunday in July-August. Members get priority, visitors fill the gaps. Try Tuesday or Wednesday morning slots, and avoid 09:00 (rush) and 14:00 (after-lunch slow play with the senior groups).
- 2Take the train to Niederried instead of driving. Bahn line S5 to Ringgenberg-Goldswil is 12 minutes from Interlaken Ost, then a 6-minute walk to the clubhouse. Free with Berner Oberland regional pass (32 CHF/day adult, kids free with parents) and you avoid the 25 CHF club parking plus the morning lake-road traffic.
- 3Pack non-golf shoes for the clubhouse. Niederried is traditional Swiss country club — soft spikes mandatory on the course, but most clubhouses now require street shoes inside the restaurant after a complaint about studs scratching the parquet. The locker rooms have shoe-storage racks.
- 4Use the Hotel Du Nord shuttle for kids activities. They run a complimentary shuttle to Harder Kulm cable car, the Strandbad lake beach, and the Funky Forest adventure park, on demand 09:00 to 18:00. Faster than the local bus and saves the 5 CHF per ride per person.
- 5Skip the Niederried clubhouse restaurant on weekends. Saturday and Sunday lunches book out by Friday with member parties. Pack a sandwich from the Sandwich Bar in town (10 CHF), or eat at Hotel Schiff in Ringgenberg village 4 minutes from the course (open daily until 22:00, real kids menu).
