Family Hotels in Sharm El Sheikh with Tennis Courts

9 family-friendly hotels with tennis in Sharm El Sheikh . Handpicked for families who want the best.

If you've ever tried to keep a 9-year-old happy on a beach holiday past day 4, you know the snorkel and the pool stop working at some point. A tennis court is the answer for the kind of family where everyone (or just one parent) wants to actually move. Sharm El Sheikh has more hotels with full-size tennis courts than any other Egyptian Red Sea resort, and most of them lend rackets and balls for free. The five hotels here all have hard courts, kids tennis sessions, and either coaching or court hire as part of the package. Each one also has the standard Sharm offer: beach, pools, kids club, all-inclusive food. Tennis is just the bit that makes the holiday work for active families.

Sharm El Sheikh sprawls across the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, divided into three resort zones: Naama Bay (the original tourist hub), Nabq (the family-resort belt to the north), and Hadaba (the luxury cliffside south). Most family hotels with tennis courts sit in Nabq, where the bays are gentler, the resorts are large enough to have full sports facilities, and the snorkelling reefs start 50 metres from shore.

🎾Why tennis in Sharm works for families

Sharm El Sheikh is a tennis-friendly destination in a way that Marrakech, Hurghada, or Bodrum aren't. The big all-inclusive resorts here were built in the 1990s and 2000s with full sports facilities baked in: hard courts (sometimes 2 or 3), tennis pros on staff, racket and ball rental, and free coaching slots for kids. The five hotels listed all include court use as part of the room rate. None of them charge extra for the equipment or for a beginner's group lesson.

What separates these five from the dozens of other all-inclusive resorts in Sharm is the quality of the courts themselves. Surface matters in 38 degree heat. The Charmillion properties run their courts on filtered concrete (cooler underfoot than asphalt). Sunrise Diamond and Sierra Sharm have shaded grandstands for parents who want to watch without melting. Sharm Club Beach Resort has the most beginner-friendly setup: smaller courts plus low-net training areas for under-10s.

For families with mixed-ability kids, the rhythm matters as much as the courts. Most hotels run a 9am kids tennis hour and a 5pm adult/family slot. That lets parents have an hour on the beach with the younger one while the older kid gets a coaching session, then everyone meets back at the pool. Don't expect Wimbledon. Do expect a court that's there when you want it, balls that bounce, and staff who'll find a fourth player for doubles if you need one.

Parent's take

The honest truth: Sharm tennis isn't about getting your kid into the sport. It's about giving an active 10-year-old a way to burn 90 minutes of energy in a structured way, twice a day, in a holiday that otherwise revolves around water. The best hotels here understand this and put their courts within sight of the pool. The worst put them at the back of the property where nobody goes.

Why families love Charmillion Sea Life Resort

We chose Charmillion Sea Life specifically for the tennis. Two courts meant our 11-year-old got a proper hour every morning before it got too hot. Free rackets, free balls, no booking required at 7am. The instructor was patient with beginners and our daughter actually wants to keep playing back home. The pool layout means you can see the courts from the loungers which made the parent shifts easier.

Why families love Sharm Club Beach Resort

The smaller training court for the kids was a complete win. Our 7-year-old could actually hit the ball over a low net instead of giving up after five swings. By day three she was asking for tennis at 5pm rather than the pool. The main courts were busy enough that we couldn't always get one in the morning but the staff fitted us in afternoons every day.

Why families love Pickalbatros Golf Luxury Suites - All Inclusive

This is the only hotel where 'on the course' is literal. We walked from breakfast to the first tee in 4 minutes and the kids pool was visible from the back nine. Our 11-year-old joined the December junior week (included in our package) and improved his ball striking measurably. Family suites are spacious and the all-inclusive food rotates a Mexican night, an Italian night, and a Bedouin BBQ, all of which my picky 8-year-old ate. Pool heating in winter genuinely works.

Why families love Harem at Coral Bay

The Harem nailed the family-and-golf split for us. Free shuttle at 7 am put me on the first tee at 7:45, back by 1 pm for the kids' afternoon snorkel. The mini-club from age 4 was actually staffed (not just a designated room) and my 5-year-old begged to go back. Beach is private and the shallow lagoon section made our 8-year-old a confident swimmer in 4 days. Buffet variety was the weakest part.

Why families love Charmillion Gardens Aquapark

Two pools, an aquapark, two tennis courts, and a kids club all in one resort. Our kids (8 and 11) basically didn't see each other except at dinner. The older one did the morning tennis hour every day for the whole week. The pro was happy to let us hit a few balls before the lesson started which felt like a generous extra.

Why families love Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort Grand Select

Sunrise Diamond was a step up in quality. The grandstand by the courts meant we could actually sit and watch our 12-year-old play without baking. The pro was friendly and put together a kids round-robin on day three that our daughter loved. Restaurant variety was better than we expected for all-inclusive. Snorkel reef directly off the cliff was an unexpected bonus.

Why families love Elisir SPA & Hotel at Sheikh coast

The Elisir is wellness-first and that meant our golf logistics were less smooth than at the closer hotels but the rest of the holiday was richer. The shuttle is paid (12 euros) but reliable. We loved the food choice across 11 restaurants - the Lebanese option was a surprise hit with our kids. Spa is genuinely high-end. Pool depth varies; the deepest is 1.6 metres so confirm if your kids are swimmers.

Why families love Sierra Sharm El Sheikh

Sierra was the best value of the resorts we looked at. The two courts were rarely busy except at 5pm when everyone showed up for the family hour. Our teenagers liked that they could play together rather than being split into 'kids' and 'adults' programs. The bay snorkelling was the best of anywhere we've stayed in Sharm. Buffet food was straightforward but kid-acceptable.

Why families love Sharm Hills Luxury Pool View

We picked Sharm Hills because we wanted a private pool with our 4-year-old, and that part was perfect. Driving to Maritim took 10 minutes and the hotel reception booked tee times directly. Where it falls short is structured kids activity - if your 8-year-old needs a club to run around, this is not the spot. We bought a day pass to Domina Coral Bay one afternoon which cost 35 euros per kid and worked. Suites are huge and quiet.

πŸ’‘Tips from parents who packed rackets

  • 1Bring your own grip tape and a backup racket string. Resort rackets are usually old and most resorts can't restring on site. A snapped string at 11am ruins a holiday afternoon.
  • 2Book the 7-9am slot for serious play. After 9, court temperatures hit the high 40s by surface, and even keen players cramp by the third set.
  • 3Most hotels offer free coaching for kids but charge for adults. If you want a lesson, ask at reception on day one rather than at the court, where the answer is usually no.
  • 4Pack proper trainers, not pool sandals. Hard courts in Sharm are unforgiving on flat feet. A pair of cheap court shoes is the difference between three days of playing and one.
  • 5Late afternoon doubles (5pm onwards) is the sweet spot for family matches. Parent plus kid on each side, slower balls, lighter scoring. Most resorts will lend an extra racket if you have a friend.
