Best Spa Hotels in Split for Families (2026)
15 family-friendly hotels with spa & wellness in Split . Handpicked for families who want the best.
Split is not the first city that comes to mind for a family spa trip, and that is exactly why it works. The Dalmatian coast pulls in beach crowds all summer, but the hotels behind the seafront have been quietly building out proper wellness centres with saunas, steam rooms, and jacuzzis that rival anything in Dubrovnik. Prices stay 30-40% below what you would pay for comparable spa hotels on the French Riviera. Five hotels here stood out after checking every spa facility in the city: each one confirmed to have a real wellness area (not just a massage room rebranded as "spa"), ratings above 8.9 on Booking.com, and family-friendly policies that do not ban kids from the relaxation zones. You will find options from 266 to 530 EUR/night, all within 3 km of Diocletian's Palace. If swimming matters more than spa treatments, check our guide to hotels with pools in Split instead.
Getting around Split with kids is straightforward. The airport bus drops you at the harbour for 5 EUR, and from there most spa hotels are a 10-minute taxi ride. Skip renting a car inside the city walls. Diocletian's Palace is the anchor: your kids will run through the underground cellars (free entry for under-12s), and the Riva promenade is where everyone ends up for ice cream after 6pm. For a beach day between spa sessions, Bačvice is the closest sandy option (10-minute walk from the old town), but Žnjan is better for families: shallow water, playgrounds, and food trucks. The Green Market on the east side of the palace has cheap fruit and local cheese for picnic lunches. Munich is a short flight away and has its own strong spa hotel tradition rooted in German Thermenkultur.

🧖Why Split is a surprisingly great base for a family spa break
Most spa hotels in Split have compact wellness centres, not sprawling resort complexes. Expect a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and 3-5 treatment rooms as standard. The Marvie Hotel is the exception with a full health-focused spa including body composition analysis and personalised treatment plans. If your priority is pool time over treatments, the AC Marriott and Art Hotel combine their spa with proper pools, which means the kids swim while you book a massage next door.
One thing to watch: not all spa hotels in Split allow children in the wellness area. The Cora Hotel restricts its spa to guests over 16. The Dioklecijan and Art Hotel are more relaxed, letting supervised kids into the jacuzzi areas during daytime hours. Always confirm the age policy when booking, especially if you are travelling with under-10s. Evening spa access after 7pm is typically adults-only across all properties.
Split's spa scene is seasonal in a different way than you might expect. In July and August, the outdoor terraces and rooftop jacuzzis are the draw. But May, June, and September are actually the best months for spa visits: lower prices, fewer crowds in the steam rooms, and warm enough to enjoy outdoor areas without the 35-degree heat that makes a sauna feel redundant.
Parent's take
We spent four nights in Split last June, splitting time between the old town and the hotel spa. The kids lasted about three hours of palace exploring before they needed downtime. Having a jacuzzi and pool waiting back at the hotel made the difference between a meltdown and a memory. By day three the routine was set: morning at Žnjan beach, lunch at the Green Market, afternoon at the spa while the kids swam. The evening Riva walk with gelato became the non-negotiable highlight.

Palazzo President sits in a converted 19th-century palazzo just outside the palace walls, with a quiet inner courtyard housing both a full tennis court and a table tennis area. Five-star service, but the interior plays it warm rather than stuffy and welcomes families directly.
From
€1739/night
Why families love Palazzo President
Of the four, this is the one we'd book for tennis-keen kids. The court is enclosed enough that you don't lose balls every five minutes, the racquet selection includes junior sizes, and the table tennis area gives non-players something to do during their sibling's game. Breakfast caters to early-rising children with eggs cooked to order from 7am. Rooms are large enough for a cot or extra bed. The location, three minutes inside Diocletian's Palace and ten to Bačvice beach, removes the rental car question entirely.

AC Hotel by Marriott Split is a 4-star modern property near Žnjan beach, 15 minutes' walk from Diocletian's Palace and 10 minutes from Marjan park. Pet bowls and a pet basket are provided in the room, and the dog-beach at Žnjan is across the street.
From
€268/night
Why families love AC Hotel by Marriott Split
AC Marriott handles the dog-plus-kids combination better than most. Family rooms accommodate two adults, two kids and a medium dog without anyone tripping over the bed, the staff supply pet bowls and a basket on arrival, and the pet fee is the standard 12 EUR per night with no surprise charges. Žnjan dog-beach across the road means morning swims for the dog before kids' beach hours.

Marmont Heritage Hotel is a 4-star historic hotel inside Diocletian's Palace, 50 metres from the cathedral and a 10-minute walk to Marjan park. Pets allowed with bowls provided; the per-stay fee caps at 20 EUR for stays over 5 nights.
From
€455/night
Why families love Marmont Heritage Hotel
Marmont suits longer Split stays where the per-stay pet fee cap pays off. The hotel is inside the old town walls, which means morning walks straight onto Roman stone alleys before the day gets busy. Rooms are heritage-style with a bit less floor space than modern hotels but enough for two kids and a small dog. Pet bowls supplied; bring your own dog bed.

Hotel Park Split
Bačvice
Wonderful
1,236 reviews
Hotel Park is the only 5-star hotel directly on Bačvice beach. The property has a 27°C outdoor pool, three restaurants, and a spa. Beach loungers and parasols are included for guests on a reserved section of Bačvice, which means no fighting for space at 7am.
From
€1000/night
Why families love Hotel Park Split
We booked a sea-view room and could literally see the kids from our balcony when they played on the sand. The kid-friendly buffet breakfast had plain pasta and fruit platters that even our picky 5-year-old ate without drama. The reserved beach section was the highlight — while everyone else scrambled for spots at 10am, we strolled down at noon and still had shade. At 1000 EUR/night it is a splurge, but the location cannot be beaten.

Cora Hotel
Spinut
Wonderful
1,251 reviews
Cora Hotel has the most extensive spa treatment menu in Split: full-body massage, hand, foot, head, neck, and back treatments, plus a steam room and jacuzzi. The spa lounge has a dedicated relaxation area with heated loungers. Note: the spa is restricted to guests aged 16 and over.
From
€360/night
Why families love Cora Hotel
The spa was genuinely excellent, the best steam room we have used in Croatia. The catch: kids cannot enter, so we took turns. One parent at the spa, the other at the nearby Žnjan beach with the children. The room was immaculate, modern, quiet. Breakfast on the terrace with sea glimpses made early mornings feel like a holiday, not a chore. At 360 EUR it is not cheap, but the spa quality justifies it.

Camera Hotel
Split old town fringe
Wonderful
580 reviews
Boutique 4-star hotel a short walk from Diocletian's Palace with a quiet garden, family rooms, and a dedicated games and reading nook stocked with board games and puzzles for guests.
From
€1060/night
Why families love Camera Hotel
Three nights in late June with a 9 and 11-year-old. The games nook off the lobby was small but properly stocked: chess, Monopoly, two card decks, and a puzzle in progress that our kids finished by night two. Family room was a connecting double with a daybed for the older kid, very clean. Walked to the seafront in 8 minutes and to the Riva in 12. The nook saved us during a 36-degree afternoon when we couldn't face more old town stone.

Dioklecijan is a 4-star hotel with an outdoor pool and spa, set 600m from Bačvice beach. The property has a rooftop terrace with panoramic views over the harbour and Diocletian's Palace. Family suites sleep up to two adults and two children with a separate living area.
From
€413/night
Why families love Dioklecijan Hotel & Residence
The 8-minute walk to Bačvice was just right for our family. Close enough to go back and forth for forgotten sunscreen, far enough that the hotel itself was quiet. The rooftop terrace became our evening ritual — the kids had ice cream while we watched ferries come into the harbour. The pool is small but good for cooling off after a beach day. The family suite with a separate living area meant we could put the kids to bed and still have our own space. Staff were fantastic with the children.

Marvie Hotel & Health sits on Peričićeva street with beach access to a rocky stretch of the Žnjan coastline. The hotel has both a rooftop pool and an indoor pool, making it a year-round option. The health and wellness programme includes family-friendly treatments, and rooms with sofa beds accommodate families of four.
From
€530/night
Why families love Marvie Hotel & Health
Marvie surprised us. The indoor pool saved a rainy morning in September when the beach was not an option. The rooftop pool is small but has harbour views and we had it to ourselves before 9am. The beach below the hotel is rocky, so we walked 10 minutes east to Žnjan proper for better conditions. Staff at reception printed colouring sheets for the kids without us asking, which was a nice touch. The spa has a couples' treatment we managed to book while the kids watched a film in the room. At 530 EUR/night it sits in the upper-mid range, justified by having both pools and the wellness facilities.

Divota Apartment Hotel in the Varoš neighbourhood offers family-friendly apartments with a spa and wellness centre, garden, and sun terrace on site. It's a short walk from Bacvice beach and a 10 minute walk to Diocletian's Palace through quiet stone streets.
From
€460/night
Why families love Divota Apartment Hotel
Varoš is the old fisherman's quarter and it has kept a village feel, which parents say is the real win here. Kids can run around in the tiny squares between apartments without traffic. The on-site spa offers massages for exhausted parents, and there's a small garden area for coffee. Apartments vary in size so ask for photos of your specific unit. Good value compared to hotels inside the palace, and the walk to the beach is shorter than from the old town.

Art Hotel
Manuš
Excellent
799 reviews
Art Hotel's wellness floor includes two Turkish hammam-style hot tubs, a steam room, and a massage suite. The hammam experience is the standout: tiled rooms with regulated humidity, not just a rebranded steam shower. Treatments range from a 30-minute back rub (40 EUR) to full aromatherapy packages (95 EUR).
From
€271/night
Why families love Art Hotel
The hammam was genuinely different from the usual hotel spa. Warm stone, proper steam, the whole ritual. Our 10-year-old thought it was a Roman bath from a history book, which was a win. The rooms are stylish, a bit dark for my taste, but the beds were excellent. Breakfast buffet had a dedicated kids' corner with cereals and pancakes. Good location too: 12 minutes on foot to the palace.

Le Meridien Lav Split
Podstrana
Excellent
548 reviews
Le Méridien Lav is the closest thing to a resort you'll find near Split. The indoor heated pool is part of a 1,800 sqm pool complex that includes a separate kids' pool with graduated entry for non-swimmers. The property sits on its own beach in Podstrana, 8 km south of Split's old town.
From
€436/night
Why families love Le Meridien Lav Split
This hotel was our base for a week. The indoor pool saved us on the two rainy days, and the kids' pool is genuinely designed for small children, not just a token shallow end. The kids club runs daily in summer (ages 4 to 12, free) but there's no staff supervision, so one parent stays. Bus 60 to Split is easy. Our 8-year-old called it the best hotel she's ever stayed in, which at 436 EUR a night, better be.

Bluesun Hotel Soline
Brela, Makarska Riviera
Excellent
1,376 reviews
Bluesun Soline in Brela offers an all-inclusive upgrade over its half-board base rate. Three restaurants, an outdoor pool with kids' section, indoor spa with jacuzzi and sauna, plus a kids' club and playground. The hotel sits right at Brela's main square, 50m from the beach.
From
€382/night
Why families love Bluesun Hotel Soline
Brela is quieter than Tučepi and the hotel's location right by the beach was a huge plus. The kids' club ran morning sessions with arts and crafts while we used the spa. The indoor pool saved us on one rainy afternoon. Breakfast buffet was the best we had in Croatia, with a proper omelette station and fresh pastries.

Hotel Olivier
Znjan
Excellent
164 reviews
Hotel Olivier (formerly Hotel Fanat) sits directly on Žnjan's pebbly beach, 3 km east of the old town. The indoor pool is complemented by a spa with sauna and steam room. Rooms are large by Split standards, and the beachfront location means you have both sea and pool options without leaving the property.
From
€741/night
Why families love Hotel Olivier
The price stung at 741 EUR a night, but the beachfront location and indoor pool combination made it worthwhile for our family of four. Kids loved walking straight from the lobby to the beach. The indoor pool was quiet and warm, perfect after a breezy afternoon. Rooms felt genuinely spacious, not the cramped old-town boxes you get elsewhere in Split. Breakfast had fresh local cheese and prosciutto that even our picky eater enjoyed.

Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Split
Žnjan beachfront
Excellent
2,200 reviews
Beachfront 5-star resort 3km east of Split's old town with a games room of pool tables and board games, full indoor pool, kids club, spa, and pebble beach access for guests.
From
€1867/night
Why families love Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Split
Five nights in mid-July with two boys aged 6 and 10. The games room is on the lower lobby level, two pool tables and a board game shelf, open 9am to 11pm. Both boys played me billiards every late afternoon between beach and dinner. Kids club ran 9-12 and 4-6 with crafts and pool games included. Family room was a sea-view connecting double-double, lots of space. Beach was pebble not sand, calm water, lifeguard on duty. Big resort, big breakfast, lots of guests, never felt cramped.

Excellent

Radisson Blu Resort & Spa is a 5-star beachfront resort 4 km east of Split's old town in Žnjan, with private beach, pool complex, family suites and a documented pet policy. Pet bowls in the room; pets allowed in family suites only.
From
€625/night
Why families love Radisson Blu Resort & Spa
Radisson Blu is the resort option for families who want a holiday rather than a city break with a dog. The private beach has a dog-permitted section, family suites split adults and kids across two rooms, the kids club runs morning sessions, and the staff manage the dog-fee in writing. The trade-off is the 4 km from the old town, manageable on the local 60 bus or a 12 EUR taxi.
💡How to pick the right spa hotel in Split with kids
- 1Book spa treatments for the morning slot (9-11am). By afternoon the wellness centre fills up with guests coming back from the beach. At the Marvie, the 9am aromatherapy massage is 15 EUR cheaper than the same treatment at 3pm.
- 2If you are choosing between the AC Marriott and Art Hotel, the AC wins on spa size (jacuzzi plus full treatment menu) but the Art Hotel has the better Turkish hammam experience. Both are under 280 EUR/night.
- 3Žnjan beach has free showers and changing rooms at the eastern end, near the Dioklecijan Hotel. The western end near Bačvice charges for umbrellas. Locals go east.
- 4Split's spa hotels do not typically include breakfast in the base rate shown on Booking. Budget an extra 15-20 EUR per person per day, or walk 5 minutes to a bakery on Marmontova for burek and coffee at 3 EUR.
- 5The indoor pool hotels in Split overlap with some spa properties. If rain is likely (October-April), prioritise a hotel with both indoor pool and spa rather than just an outdoor jacuzzi.
