Family Hotels in Djerba with Water Parks

5 family-friendly hotels with water park in Djerba . Handpicked for families who want the best.

Djerba is one of the rare Mediterranean destinations where a proper on-site water park comes built into family resort pricing, not added as a 25 EUR shuttle excursion. The five hotels below all run slide complexes inside their gates, so kids can ride a flume between buffet sittings without leaving the wristband zone. Compared with Costa Brava or Mallorca, Djerba prices are roughly half for the same star count, the water-park towers are bigger, and the shallow lagoon beach is right outside the slide gate. Slides typically open from late May through early October.

Djerba is a flat sandy island linked to mainland Tunisia by a causeway, with the hotel strip running 25 km along the eastern shore from Sidi Mahres beach through Aghir to Taguermess. The interior is white-cube villages, palm orchards and pottery workshops at Guellala. The two main population centres are Houmt Souk in the north and Midoun in the centre. Water parks here cluster in the resort strip; Houmt Souk and Midoun towns themselves have no slides.

🎒Why Djerba Water-Park Hotels Work for Families

Aqua park access on Djerba is included in the room rate at every property below. There is no day pass to buy, no taxi to take, and no advance reservation, because the slide tower is inside the same secured compound as your room. The 6-slide tower at Medina Les Quatre Saisons opens daily 10 am to 5:30 pm with a lifeguard on each landing pool, and the kids splash zone sits separate from the main slides so under-5s can play in 15 cm water without older children jumping in.

Slide height restrictions are clearly posted at every park. Standard rule across Djerba is 1.10 m minimum for the fast slides, 0.90 m for the medium tubes, and no height limit on the toddler splash pad. Lifeguard staff measure with a wall stick on the day, not by your child's stated age, so bring a swim shoe with a little lift if your borderline 6-year-old wants the green slide.

The water park itself is included, but the slide tubes are not free at all hotels. Two of the five below charge 2 EUR for a 60-minute foam mat rental, which is sensible because adults end up keeping the mats overnight. The other three include foam mats in the all-inclusive package. Towels for the slide pool are also included at three of the five; check the resort book in your room on arrival.

Parent's take

Honestly, the trick that wins parents over here is the timing. The water park opens at 10 am and most kids go directly from breakfast to slides, which means by 12:30 they are exhausted, hungry, and ready for the buffet without complaint. By 14:30 they nap. By 16:00 they want the slides again. The whole day plans itself.

Why families love Iberostar Waves Mehari Djerba

Came here twice in three years because the lagoon works for kids who cannot swim. Both my kids stood waist-deep at 50 meters from shore. The Iberostar water park has 3 small slides and a kids zone with mushroom fountain. Family rooms had a small alcove with two single beds for the kids and a real curtain to close it off.

2#2 Best for Water Park
Medina Les Quatre Saisons Aqua Park Resort and Thalasso Djerba - 4-star hotel in Sidi Mahres, Djerba - photo 1

Four-star resort on Sidi Mahres beach with an on-site aqua park with 6 slides, direct beach access of 200 meters, family rooms for 4 with adjacent kids beds, and thalasso center for adults. Best value of the five for families wanting a water park without leaving the resort.

Why families love Medina Les Quatre Saisons Aqua Park Resort and Thalasso Djerba

The aqua park made this trip. Six slides ranging from toddler tube to a faster yellow chute that we did 30 times. Kids 6 and 9 both loved it. The 200 meter beach is shorter than the Iberostars but the lagoon at the water edge is the same shallow grade. All-inclusive food is solid not exciting, but the resort cost half what Iberostar charges.

Has the only proper on-site water park among Djerba all-inclusive resorts, with four slides, a wave pool and a separate splash zone for under-fives. Premium pricing reflects the aqua park: it's marketed primarily to families with school-age kids who want the slides as the main draw.

Why families love Iliade Aqua Park - All Inclusive

The aqua park alone justifies the price for families with 6-12 year-olds. Slides run 10 am to 6 pm under supervision, height restrictions are clear, and there's a toddler splash pad away from the main slide pool. Food is fine rather than memorable, but kids come for water not the buffet.

Fiesta Beach Djerba - 4-star hotel in Midoun, Djerba - photo 1

Four-star Fiesta Beach is one of the better mid-range Djerba water-park picks, with a two-tower slide complex inside the gates, a 25-metre lazy river that wraps the main building, and a separate toddler splash pad with 8 cm water depth. All-inclusive package covers slides, mats, beach loungers and one shaded pool umbrella.

Why families love Fiesta Beach Djerba

The lazy river is the part the kids talked about for weeks. Eight-year-old looped it twenty times in a row on the foam ring. Toddler stayed in the splash pad section with 8 cm water and a tiny three-step slide that she ran up and down endlessly. Animation team showed up at 11 am with face paint near the pool deck. Buffet had a kids window opening 18:30, before the adult sitting at 19:30.

Why families love Cesar Thalasso

Lower rating than the bigger resorts but the slide setup punches above. Two medium slides good for 7-year-olds, no high tower for tweens, but the kids splash pad has a tipping bucket that emptied every 90 seconds and absorbed our 4-year-old's attention for ninety minutes. Buffet was three sit-down sections; kids ate what they wanted. The thalasso center has parent-only sessions 11 am to noon.

πŸ’‘Tips Before You Book a Djerba Water-Park Hotel

  • 1Book a sea-view room facing the pool tower side, not the garden block. The slide complex is usually positioned between the rooms and the beach, and a sea-view room means you can watch your bigger kids from the balcony while the youngest naps. The 25-35 EUR per night price gap is worth it because the alternative is dragging everyone to the lounger every 20 minutes.
  • 2Bring crocs or aqua shoes for the slide queues. The walkways back up to the slide tower top are 40 to 80 metres of metal stairs in the sun, and toddlers refuse to climb them barefoot. Cheap aqua shoes from the resort shops cost 12-15 EUR; supermarkets in Houmt Souk sell them for 5-7 EUR if you have a taxi day.
  • 3Pack high-SPF mineral sunscreen and reapply every 90 minutes. Slide pool water washes off chemical sunscreens fast, and Djerba sun between 11 am and 3 pm in July-August is brutal. Most water parks have shaded loungers but seat them on a first-come basis from 9 am; send one parent down at 8:45 to claim a shade row near the kids splash pad.
  • 4Check the slide opening hours on rainy or windy days. Slides close when sustained wind hits 30 km/h, which happens 2-3 days each summer. Hotels rarely refund or extend if your week catches a wind day. The indoor pool stays open and most resorts run extra animation those afternoons; do not waste your slide energy day on a wind warning.
  • 5Schedule slides for the first three days, beach for days four to seven. Kids burn out on water parks faster than parents expect. By day four they want shells, sandcastles and pedalos, not another 40-metre slide queue. Plan the slide-heavy days near arrival so they peak when energy is high, and save the beach loungers for the back half of the week.
