Best Puerto del Carmen Hotels with Kids Clubs for Families (2026)
5 family-friendly hotels with kids club in Puerto del Carmen . Handpicked for families who want the best.
Puerto del Carmen is the largest and oldest resort on Lanzarote. The 6km coastline gives you a choice of calm swimming beaches, a traffic-free promenade, and the widest restaurant selection on the island. Hotels here have competed on kids entertainment for decades, which shows in the quality of the clubs. The five we selected run full programmes from 10am to 5pm most days, with mini-disco and family shows in the evening. Playa Grande and Los Pocillos beaches sit at opposite ends of the resort, both good for under-tens.
Puerto del Carmen is livelier than Playa Blanca, calmer than Costa Teguise. The strip along Avenida de las Playas has the tourist restaurants and some mid-evening bar action, but family hotels on Los Pocillos and Matagorda feel residential. The promenade walk from Playa Grande to Playa de los Pocillos takes about an hour with a pram and covers three beaches, various playgrounds, and a dozen ice cream stops. Easy to do in segments across a week.
π§Why Puerto del Carmen for a Family Holiday
Hotel competition keeps prices reasonable even in July and August. Look at the per-night comparison with Playa Blanca and you'll see Puerto del Carmen coming in 10-20% cheaper for similar stars and ratings. The trade-off is that some of the older properties are, well, older β but the five we picked have all been refurbished in the last five years.
Kids club operators here are more seasoned than you'd find at brand-new resorts. Several of the entertainment managers at our picks have been running Lanzarote kids clubs for 15+ years and it shows in the programme planning.
Parent's take
Puerto del Carmen divides opinion. Some parents love the buzz and the restaurant choice. Others find it too built-up. If you've done quieter Spanish resorts and are now travelling with kids who want a bit more happening, this is a solid upgrade. If you're coming from the UK or Germany looking for calm, Playa Blanca might suit you better.

Plus Fariones Suite Hotel
Puerto del Carmen
Wonderful
0 reviews
A four-star all-suites hotel adjacent to Hotel Fariones in central Puerto del Carmen. Guests share the Fariones kids club, so the programme is the same five-star standard. Suites sleep four to six with a separate kids zone. Two pools and direct access to Playa Grande beach.

Why families love Plus Fariones Suite Hotel
We stayed in a two-bedroom suite for five nights and the space made a real difference with kids. Room service breakfast on the terrace on two mornings felt like a proper holiday. Shared kids club with Hotel Fariones means the facilities are top-tier, but the waiting list for entertainment sessions is real. Sign up for the week on check-in. Beach access is genuinely direct β we timed it, 90 seconds from lobby to sand. The suite walls are thin; our neighbours' TV came through.

Hotel Las Costas
Puerto del Carmen
Wonderful
0 reviews
A four-star on Los Pocillos beach with a well-reviewed Kids Club for 4-12s. The programme includes beach games as part of the rotation, which you don't see at every Lanzarote hotel. Two outdoor pools including a shaded children's pool. Supervised kids lunch is included in half-board bookings.

Why families love Hotel Las Costas
Beach games as part of the kids club rotation sold us on this one, and it delivered. Our son came back with sandy knees and a massive grin. The entertainment team genuinely engaged with individual kids rather than herding them. Supervised kids lunch at 12:30pm meant we could sit with a beer at the pool bar β underrated luxury. Rooms are smallish but the family room has a proper balcony with shade. Breakfast coffee machine broke for two mornings; they made up for it with complimentary barista coffee at the bar.

Hipotels La Geria
Puerto del Carmen
Excellent
0 reviews
A four-star resort hotel in a quieter part of Puerto del Carmen with expansive gardens and three pools. The Hipotels Kids Club (4-12) runs a full timetable with weekly themes. A separate mini-club accepts 2-3s with a parent. The hotel sits 300m from Los Pocillos beach.

Why families love Hipotels La Geria
La Geria felt more resort, less town than the central hotels, which suited us with kids. Acres of lawn between buildings meant our four-year-old could run without hitting roads. Kids club had two main rooms split by age, which we appreciated with a five-year-old and a nine-year-old. The 300m walk to the beach involves crossing one busy road at a marked crossing. Buggy-friendly but not as direct as beachfront hotels. Evenings were quiet β no bar strip nearby β which we loved and other guests complained about.

R2 Bahia Kontiki
Puerto del Carmen
Excellent
0 reviews
A four-star family-focused hotel towards the Matagorda end of Puerto del Carmen. The R2 Kids Club runs themed programmes with a pool-games emphasis. Large outdoor pool with a children's section and separate splash zone. Apartments and studios available alongside standard rooms. 150m from Matagorda beach.

Why families love R2 Bahia Kontiki
Matagorda beach is genuinely quieter than Playa Grande and that was the reason we picked here. Hotel is a bit tired in decor but functional and spotlessly clean. Kids club programme leans pool-games-heavy rather than crafts, which our seven-year-old loved. Studio room had a kitchenette which saved us on breakfasts. Air traffic from the nearby airport is noticeable during the day (not at night) β worth knowing if you're a light sleeper. Staff were patient with our basic Spanish.

ILUNION Costa Sal Lanzarote
Puerto del Carmen
Excellent
0 reviews
A four-star hotel with strong accessibility credentials, in central Puerto del Carmen. The kids club programme accepts 4-12 with specific adaptations for children with disabilities on request. Two pools, one adapted for accessible entry. Short walk to Playa Grande and the main promenade.

Why families love ILUNION Costa Sal Lanzarote
We have a child with mobility needs and ILUNION is the first Lanzarote hotel we've found that properly caters for this without making a fuss. Adapted pool entry, accessible kids club activities, wheelchair-accessible bathroom in the family room β all worked without us having to negotiate. The kids club team were trained and just got on with it. Food was average hotel-buffet quality. Location on Avenida de las Playas means restaurants and shops within easy reach for parents on a night off.
π‘Booking Tips for Puerto del Carmen Kids Club Hotels
- 1Ask for a room facing Los Pocillos beach. The strip side gets evening bar noise until 11pm even in family-rated hotels. We learnt this the hard way in 2024 and had to change rooms on day two.
- 2Matagorda beach is the secret. It sits at the airport end of the resort and is much quieter than Playa Grande. Local families use it, tourists don't. Easier to find a shaded spot.
- 3The resort bus runs every 20 minutes along Avenida de las Playas for β¬1.60 per adult. Beats trying to park near the beach in high season, where spaces fill by 10am.
- 4Book the kids club dinner package if it's offered. Three of our five hotels do a supervised kids dinner at 6pm so parents can eat at 8pm. Worth the supplement for one or two nights a week.
- 5Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park (10 min drive) does a kids-and-parent pool cabana package. Pre-book by email for a 50% weekday discount. Under-fives free.
