Best Hotels with Swimming Pools in Sicily for Families (2026)
15 family-friendly hotels with swimming pool in Sicily . Handpicked for families who want the best.
Sicily gets hot. Really hot. By the second week of July, the beach is unmanageable with kids between 11am and 4pm, and the afternoons collapse into one question: where do we cool down? The answer is almost always the hotel pool. This page lists the Sicilian hotels whose pools are actually big enough to swim in, shaded enough to sit around, and family-friendly enough that you don't need to hide kids at certain hours. Prices range from 155 EUR/night in inland Noto to 500+ EUR in Taormina. If you're also considering pool hotels in Sardinia for a quieter base, we have a page for that.
Sicily isn't one place. The north coast (Cefalù, Palermo, Pollina) is sandy beaches and big resort hotels. The east coast (Taormina, Catania, Giardini Naxos) is clifftop towns and Etna views. The southeast (Noto, Siracusa, Ragusa) is baroque towns and quiet coves. A hotel pool means different things in each zone: on the north coast it's a break from a busy beach, in Taormina it's the main event because the beach is a cable-car trip away, in the southeast it's essential because rental car + 38°C = kid meltdown. Getting around is easier than Sicilians will tell you — Catania airport serves the east, Palermo the north. Rent a car both ways.
🏊Why Sicily hotels lean hard on the pool in summer
The pool scene in Sicily splits cleanly into two: the resort pools on the north coast and the town-hotel pools in Taormina and the southeast. Resort pools are bigger (often 20m+), have kids sections, lifeguards in peak season, and animation teams that run water polo at 4pm. Town-hotel pools are smaller — typically 8 to 15m — but you're trading pool size for location, and in Taormina that location is a cliff terrace with an Ionian sea view.
Watch for two things. First, adult-only hours: some hotels lock kids out of the pool between 10am and 2pm so adult guests can have a quiet swim. That's exactly when you need the pool with children. Hotel Mediterranée, Villa Felicia and Hotel Kalura all allow kids all day; Villa Fiorita and Villa Belvedere have adult-preferred quiet hours but don't enforce them strictly. Second, depth. Most Sicilian hotel pools are 1.3-1.7m — fine for swimmers, rough for toddlers. The Grand Palladium Sicilia and Acacia Resort have proper shallow pools; most town hotels don't.
Price-wise, the budget ceiling in Sicily is lower than Taormina would suggest. The Iride at 192 EUR/night has a pool and a rating of 9.0, Masseria degli Ulivi near Noto is 155 EUR with a 9.2 rating and a 20m outdoor pool, and Hotel Tourist in Cefalù is 300 EUR with direct sea access. The luxury ceiling goes high — Doric Eco Resort at 499 EUR, Hotel Villa Belvedere in Taormina at 826 EUR — but the sweet spot for families is 250-400 EUR, where 4-star hotels with decent-sized pools and family rooms are abundant.
Parent's take
We stayed near Cefalù in July 2024. The pool became the day. Up early, beach by 8am, back to the hotel at 10:30am before the sun got vicious, and the kids lived in the pool from 11am until lunch. Afternoon sleep, then pool again from 4pm to dinner. That pattern only works if the pool is big enough for actual swimming and isn't closed in the middle of the day. The hotel we picked (Acacia Resort) had a family pool open 9am to 7pm, and the kids club ran parallel, so we could sit at the pool edge with a book and still get a break. The Sicilian heat is no joke between mid-July and late August. A hotel without a pool is a hotel you'll leave a week later.

Doric Eco Boutique Resort & Spa
Agrigento (South Coast)
Wonderful
435 reviews
A 5-star eco-resort 10 minutes from the Valley of the Temples with a full spa centre: Finnish sauna, steam room, outdoor jacuzzi, and treatment rooms using organic Sicilian products. The property is built around a restored farmhouse with energy-efficient architecture. The outdoor pool overlooks the countryside towards the sea, and the restaurant sources ingredients from the resort's own garden.
From
€499/night
Why families love Doric Eco Boutique Resort & Spa
Doric Eco is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever booked chain hotels. The spa is immaculate: stone walls, soft lighting, and an outdoor jacuzzi that looks across olive groves to the Mediterranean. The kids loved the pool and the garden, where the chef let them pick herbs for dinner. At 499 EUR/night it is a splurge, but for a special occasion or an anniversary trip where one parent does spa while the other does temples with the kids, it is worth every cent. The staff remembered our names after the first day.

Masseria Degli Ulivi
Noto (Southeast)
Wonderful
391 reviews
A converted farmhouse set among olive groves 10 minutes from Noto's Baroque centre. The spa has a wellness lounge with herbal infusions, relaxation beds, and massage treatments using local Sicilian olive oil products. The outdoor pool is ringed by Mediterranean gardens, and rooms have stone walls with modern touches. Breakfast features homemade Sicilian pastries and local cheeses.
From
€155/night
Why families love Masseria Degli Ulivi
Masseria Degli Ulivi felt more like staying at a stylish friend's country house than a hotel. Our kids ran free in the gardens while we took turns at the spa. The massage with Sicilian olive oil was the highlight of the trip, genuinely. Breakfast was exceptional: fresh ricotta, homemade marmalades, and cannoli that the kids demolished. At 155 EUR/night for a family room, it was the best value of our Sicily trip. Only downside: you absolutely need a car, as the nearest restaurant is a 10-minute drive.

Hotel Iride by Marino Tourist
San Vito lo Capo
Wonderful
399 reviews
A small 3-star hotel directly on the beach at San Vito lo Capo, one of Sicily's most famous sandy bays. The private beach section has loungers and umbrellas included. Rooms are simple but clean, with balconies facing the sea. The beach here has shallow, crystal-clear water that stays knee-deep for 20 metres out.
From
€192/night
Why families love Hotel Iride by Marino Tourist
San Vito lo Capo's beach is genuinely stunning and this hotel puts you right on it. Our room had a sea-view balcony where we could watch the kids from above when they played on the sand. The beach water is so clear you can see fish near the rocks at the bay's edges. Breakfast was basic Italian style but the cornetti were fresh. The town is walkable with plenty of gelato shops and the famous cous cous restaurants.

Wonderful
531 reviews
The only Sicilian resort with a full Neilson-run kids club programme. Mini Club takes ages 4-12 with daily sailing, tennis, and creative workshops. Junior Club covers 12-17 year olds with watersports and team activities. The resort sits in an olive grove on the south coast with indoor and outdoor pools, 7 tennis courts, 2 padel courts, and a private beach accessible by a shuttle train.
From
€245/night
Why families love Mangia's Torre Del Barone Resort & SPA
We dropped the kids at the Mini Club after breakfast and picked them up at 4pm, tanned and exhausted. The 8 year old tried sailing for the first time and hasn't stopped talking about it. The beach shuttle train was a hit with the 5 year old. The only downside: the resort is 2.5 hours from Palermo airport, so plan a late arrival or overnight stop.

Alberi del Paradiso
Cefalù
Excellent
235 reviews
A boutique property on Via Dei Mulini with a **children's playground** in the garden and a spa that includes family-friendly treatments. The pool terrace overlooks Cefalù's Norman cathedral and the coastline. Alberi positions itself as upscale but still welcoming to families: babysitting on request, kids' outdoor play equipment, and a breakfast buffet with fresh pastries.
From
€593/night
Why families love Alberi del Paradiso
Alberi del Paradiso is the splurge option. The playground is smaller than Pollina's but sits in a beautiful garden with olive trees. The pool views are magazine-worthy. Our room had enough space for a cot and there was a real espresso machine on the terrace. The spa offered a couples' massage while the babysitter watched our kids at the playground. At 593 EUR/night you need to want the boutique experience. If you just need a playground and beach, Kalura at 385 or Caesar at 227 delivers more value per euro.

Hotel Kalura
Cefalù
Excellent
1,949 reviews
Hotel Kalura sits on a rocky promontory just east of Cefalù with its own private beach cove below. The beach is a mix of sand and pebble with a dedicated kids pool as backup. A full kids playground, family buffet, and snack bar on the terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea complete the package.
From
€385/night
Why families love Hotel Kalura
The location is spectacular, perched above the sea with the old town of Cefalù visible in the distance. The private beach is small but never crowded because it is only for hotel guests. Kids loved the playground and the pool, which they used more than the beach on windy days. The breakfast buffet had a dedicated kids section with nutella croissants. Cefalù old town is a 10-minute drive or 25-minute clifftop walk.

Hotel Kalura
Cefalù
Excellent
1,950 reviews
Kalura perches on a cliff east of Cefalù with a **children's playground** beside the pool terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The private rocky beach below has a kids' pool with shallow water. The hotel is known for its restaurant serving fresh-caught fish and Sicilian pasta. Board games and puzzles available indoors for quieter moments.
From
€385/night
Why families love Hotel Kalura
The playground at Kalura has the best view of any we found in Sicily: swings with the sea behind them. Our kids swung for an hour every evening during sunset while we sat at the pool bar ten metres away. The rocky beach is not ideal for toddlers but fine for kids 5 and up with water shoes. Rooms are clean, the fish restaurant is outstanding, and staff remembered our names by day two. 385 EUR/night is not cheap but you are paying for location and the family-run atmosphere.

Splendid Hotel Taormina
Taormina
Excellent
2,544 reviews
A 4-star in the heart of Taormina, 5 minutes on foot from the Greek Theatre and the cable car to Isola Bella beach. The outdoor pool opens 10am to 6pm and overlooks the coast. Babysitting is arranged through the front desk. No formal kids club, but the central location means your family is steps from gelato shops, the main Corso Umberto, and the cable car station.
From
€264/night
Why families love Splendid Hotel Taormina
Perfect base for exploring Taormina with kids. We walked to the Greek Theatre in 5 minutes and took the cable car to the beach daily. The pool is compact but enough for kids to cool off after a morning of sightseeing. Babysitting was easy to arrange for our anniversary dinner at a cliffside restaurant. Breakfast on the terrace with Etna views made every morning special.

Mangia's Pollina Resort
Pollina (North Coast)
Excellent
1,908 reviews
Pollina sits on a private beach between Cefalù and Capo d'Orlando with both an **outdoor playground** and an **indoor play room** for when the heat gets unbearable. The resort runs kids' clubs segmented by age: Baby (1-3), Mini (4-10), Junior (11-13), Teen (14-17). Five restaurants, a kids' pool, and animation team keep families fed and entertained.
From
€324/night
Why families love Mangia's Pollina Resort
The combination of outdoor playground plus indoor play room made Pollina the most versatile hotel for our kids aged 4 and 7. Mornings on the playground, midday in the indoor play room, afternoon at the beach. The animation team ran craft workshops and a mini Olympics that our oldest talked about for weeks. Five restaurants means you never eat the same food twice. At 324 EUR/night it is not budget, but the all-inclusive option covers drinks, beach service, and everything the kids do.

UNA Hotels Naxos Beach Sicilia
Giardini Naxos (East Coast)
Excellent
1,895 reviews
A beachfront resort on Via Recanati with **4 pools** including two specifically for children. The outdoor playground sits between the kids' pool area and the beach access. UNA runs age-segmented clubs: Baby Club **(2-4)**, Kids Club **(4-12)**, and Junior Club for teens. The private beach has a gentle sandy slope.
From
€249/night
Why families love UNA Hotels Naxos Beach Sicilia
The playground was basic but well-placed: right next to the kids' pool so we could see them from the sun lounger. The kids' club saved us on day three when we wanted to visit Taormina's Greek Theatre alone. Staff spoke decent English and the buffet had a proper kids' corner with pasta, nuggets, and fruit. The beachfront location means you walk straight from breakfast to sand. At 249 EUR it is mid-range for Giardini Naxos in July.

Acacia Resort
Campofelice di Roccella (North Coast)
Very Good
130 reviews
Acacia's centrepiece is a 1,600 sqm lagoon-style pool surrounded by palm trees and tropical gardens. The all-inclusive covers breakfast and dinner buffets, bar drinks (excluding cocktails), beach, and kids club. There is also a spa, mini golf, and fitness centre. The resort is on the north coast, 1 hour from Palermo.
From
€355/night
Why families love Acacia Resort
The lagoon pool alone justified picking Acacia. Our kids spent hours in it while we read on sun loungers under actual palm trees. The kids club was smaller than at the Mangia's resorts but the staff were attentive and ran morning crafts plus afternoon sports. Breakfast buffet was generous with fresh pastries and fruit. Dinner rotated themes: pizza night, fish night, Sicilian night. At 355 EUR/night it is on the pricey side for a 4-star, but the pool setting is genuinely special.

Acacia Resort
Campofelice di Roccella (North Coast)
Very Good
130 reviews
Full-service resort on the Himera coast with a dedicated spa building: hammam, Finnish sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and a relaxation lounge. The resort also has a kids club, playground, private beach, and pool bar. The spa runs family wellness sessions on Saturday mornings with adjusted sauna temperatures and kid-friendly aromatherapy.
From
€233/night
Why families love Acacia Resort
Acacia Resort was the only hotel where we could actually bring the kids to the spa. The Saturday morning family session was a hit: lower temperatures, lavender scent, and the therapist showed our 7-year-old some basic relaxation breathing. Outside of that, the kids club kept them busy while we did proper adult spa sessions. The hammam circuit takes about 90 minutes if you do it properly. Beach is pebbly near the resort but sandy 200 metres east. Food was decent resort fare, nothing spectacular.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Giardini Naxos
Giardini Naxos
Very Good
1,113 reviews
A Marriott-branded 4-star on the Giardini Naxos waterfront, 10 minutes from Taormina by bus. The infinity pool overlooks Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. Babysitting is available on request and kids meals come from the restaurant kitchen. Two private beach areas and tropical gardens make it a good base for families who want Taormina access without Taormina prices.
From
€328/night
Why families love Delta Hotels by Marriott Giardini Naxos
The infinity pool was the best part for our kids. They spent hours going between the pool and the private beach below. Babysitting came through quickly when we wanted a dinner in Taormina alone. The room was standard Marriott, nothing fancy but clean and spacious enough for a family of four. The breakfast buffet had enough variety to keep everyone happy for a week.

Hotel Caesar Palace
Giardini Naxos (East Coast)
Very Good
1,277 reviews
Caesar Palace sits on Via Consolare Valeria in Giardini Naxos, a 10-minute drive from Taormina. The outdoor playground has swings and climbing equipment near the pool terrace. There is also a **billiards room and table tennis** indoors for rainy days or the midday heat. The kids' pool is separate from the main pool, with shallow water.
From
€227/night
Why families love Hotel Caesar Palace
The playground kept our 6-year-old busy every evening after dinner while we had coffee on the terrace. The game room with billiards and table tennis was a lifesaver during the 2pm heat. Rooms face either the garden or the sea. We picked garden-view and it was quieter at night. At 227 EUR/night for a family of four, it is the most affordable option on this list without feeling cheap.

Marina Holiday Hotel & Spa
Balestrate (Gulf of Castellammare)
Very Good
285 reviews
A 4-star beachfront hotel on the Gulf of Castellammare with direct access to a long sandy beach. The property includes a spa, outdoor pool, and beach bar serving lunch on the sand. Rooms face either the sea or the garden, and family rooms have space for a cot or extra bed.
From
€180/night
Why families love Marina Holiday Hotel & Spa
The beach here is wide and sandy with a gentle slope into the water. Our toddler could wade in safely while we sat close by. The beach bar saved us every lunchtime because the kids ate pasta with their toes in the sand instead of fidgeting in a restaurant. The spa is small but the outdoor pool is a good backup when the wind picks up. Staff were patient with our chaos.
💡How to pick a Sicilian hotel pool that actually works with kids
- 1Book for July and August only if your hotel pool is guaranteed open 9am-7pm. Some 4-star town hotels in Taormina (especially boutique ones like Villa Fiorita) have 10am-6pm pool hours, which means no morning swim after breakfast — annoying if you're staying 4 nights.
- 2The north coast (Cefalù, Campofelice, Pollina) is where to be if your kids want both beach AND pool. Distance from the pool to the sand is 50-200m at most resorts. In Taormina, the beach (Mazzarò) is 5-7 minutes by cable car below the town, so it's a proper expedition — stick with the hotel pool most of the time.
- 3Avoid inland Sicily hotels that advertise a pool but not a pool you'd want to use — Ragusa and Caltagirone have pretty stone-walled pools that look great on Booking but are often 8m long and closed by 6pm. The coastal pool hotels (Taormina, Cefalù, Giardini Naxos) stay open until dinner or later.
- 4If you have a baby or toddler, ask specifically about shallow pools. The Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort has a proper kids pool (40cm deep). Masseria degli Ulivi and Villa Felicia have single pools that are 1.3m+ throughout — you'll be holding the baby. Acacia Resort has both.
- 5Late September is the best-kept secret. Pools are still open (most close early October), water is 25°C from a summer of heating, and hotel prices drop 30-40%. The Acacia Resort that's 355 EUR in August is 230 EUR in late September, with identical pool access and weather.
