Best Baby-Friendly Hotels in Pula, Croatia (2026)
3 family-friendly hotels with baby-friendly in Pula . Handpicked for families who want the best.
Pula is the easiest baby trip in southern Istria. The airport sits five kilometres from the centre, the resort peninsulas are 10 minutes from arrivals by taxi, and the main hospital is staffed 24/7 with English-speaking paediatric nurses. The three hotels below cluster on the wooded Verudela headland, which means a short transfer with a sleeping baby and immediate access to shallow Adriatic coves rather than busy public beaches.
Pula is unpretentious. The Roman amphitheatre sits next to a cement-works ruin, the cafΓ©s are full of locals not tourists, and the marina hosts working fishing boats alongside the yachts. For families with babies this matters because it means real pharmacies, real supermarkets and real paediatric care, not the resort-town simulation. Parents tell us they end up doing one Pula run per week for proper provisions.
Why Pula works with a baby
All three hotels listed are on the Verudela peninsula or its sister Stoja headland, both pine-forested and traffic-free once you check in. From your room you walk 60 to 200 metres to a shallow cove and your stroller never crosses tarmac.
Pula's airport sits 8km from Verudela. Even with luggage and a baby, the taxi door-to-cot time is under 30 minutes. Several rental car firms now provide infant seats free if you book a baby carrier add-on at booking β Avis and Sixt both do it.
The amphitheatre, forum and cathedral are all in central Pula's pedestrian zone, which means you can do a half-day of Roman sightseeing with a pushchair on flat cobblestones. The two main piazzas have shaded benches with breastfeeding-friendly cafΓ©s on every corner.
Pula has a 24-hour general hospital with on-call paediatrics. Park Plaza properties have a doctor on the resort phone within 20 minutes for non-emergency consultations. Bring your European Health Insurance Card β it's accepted everywhere.
Parent's take
We chose Pula over Rovinj for the airport proximity and we don't regret it. The transfer from arrivals to the Park Plaza Histria check-in took 18 minutes including bag pick-up. Our 8-month-old napped through the entire transfer. The on-resort pharmacy stocked our preferred formula brand, which we hadn't expected β saved us a Pula town trip on day one.

Park Plaza Histria Pula
Verudela peninsula tip, Pula
Excellent
1,740 reviews
Histria sits at the seaward tip of the Verudela peninsula with a private cove on three sides. The 2023 family-room renovation added a separate cot nook with its own dimmer light, a baby-bath kit on request, and a partition wall that blocks the view of the parents' bed. Reception keeps a stockpile of European formula brands for emergencies.

Why families love Park Plaza Histria Pula
Histria is the most baby-aware of the Verudela trio. The room layout was the deciding factor for us β the cot nook has its own door which means you can close it when you watch TV. The reception team kept a chart of when guest babies were sleeping and asked the cleaning crew not to vacuum nearby. That kind of operational thinking is rare in a 4-star resort.

Family Resort del Mar
Stoja peninsula, southern Pula
Very Good
920 reviews
Family Resort del Mar opened in 2022 specifically for families with young children. Every unit is a 1- or 2-bedroom apartment with kitchenette, cot pre-installed, and a bottle steriliser in the cupboard. The pool complex includes a dedicated baby splash zone with shade canopy. The restaurant serves baby food from 11am.

Why families love Family Resort del Mar
Del Mar is purpose-built for families and you can tell. The apartment layout means you can close the bedroom door on a sleeping baby and still hang out in the lounge with the TV on. The kitchenette has a kettle, hob and microwave so you can cook simple meals. The pool complex segregates the baby splash zone from the main pool with a glass barrier β great for keeping older kids from splashing the little ones.

Park Plaza Verudela Pula
Verudela peninsula, Pula
Very Good
2,340 reviews
Verudela is the largest of the Park Plaza properties on the peninsula, with extensive grounds, three pools and a kilometre of cove access. Family rooms come with cots set up before arrival. The grounds include a dedicated baby promenade with hard-packed gravel suitable for prams, and shaded seating every 100 metres.

Why families love Park Plaza Verudela Pula
Verudela is the budget-friendlier of the three Park Plazas and the trade-off is size β it's a big resort so you walk further from your room to the pools. But the family rooms are spacious, the cot was installed when we arrived, and the resort grounds are properly stroller-friendly. The cove path is wide enough for two prams to pass and the shaded benches were never all occupied.
π‘Practical tips for parents in Pula
- 1Order rental car infant seats at the time of booking, not at the airport counter. Pula airport runs short on baby seats by 9am in summer, especially for rear-facing under-12-month seats.
- 2The resort shuttle from Verudela to Pula centre runs every 30 minutes from 9am to 7pm. It accepts strollers in the luggage hold but you'll need to fold them. Shuttle is free for hotel guests.
- 3Pula's main pharmacy on Giardini square stocks European baby formula brands. Open until 8pm Mon-Fri, until 1pm Sat. The on-call rotation list is posted on the door for Sundays.
- 4Visit the amphitheatre before 11am to avoid both crowds and heat. Strollers go in free, and there's a shaded picnic area on the lower tier where you can feed without rushing.
- 5Avoid Punta Verudela (the rocky tip) for stroller walks. The pebble cove path that hugs the resort coast on the eastern side is paved and pram-friendly, with shade until 4pm.
